Shore Based Training

 

Day Skipper

A comprehensive introduction to cruising for the inexperienced skipper.

This course equips you with sufficient knowledge to navigate around familiar waters by day.  A basic knowledge of lights is also included to introduce you to night cruising.

This course is currently run as an evening and weekend class during the winter but it is also available as an intensive 5-6 day course subject to a minimum of six students.  There are 2 exam papers.

Course length - Minimum 40 hours.

 

Coastal Skipper/Yacht master Offshore

Advanced training for the more experienced skippers building on the Day Skipper course.

This course equips you to navigate safely on coastal and offshore passages.  It allows some time for revision of the basics and then moves on t advanced navigation techniques.

This course is currently run as an evening and weekend class during the winter.  There are three exam papers.  Subject to a minimum of six students.

Course length - Minimum 40 hours.

 

First Aid

This one day course covers all the usual first aid subjects, but from a boating perspective.  It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or offshore.  Even those employed on small commercial vessels.

This course is available on demand.

Course length - 8 hours.
